Looking very nice. I'm about as far along as you are on this kit, I've found the kit pretty challenging, getting all those parts of the engine surround together was tough so I appreciate the work you have done. Keep up the good work!

Surprised to read that you do not like the plumbing from the kit.
You have a good start to this build for sure! Keep the updates going.

Re: 1/12 Gurney Eagle Westlake
In order of use:
1. the engine wiring in nearly all their kits is, imho, too stiff, and too hard to make look good, and doesn't snake well, I prefer using Detail Master or Top Studio wiring
2. The fuel lines, small, was unusable, too stiff, and not the right diameter - they even tell you to stretch, which I did but hard to get even diameter doing this, and then still too stiff and difficult to work
3. large diameter clear tubing was nice and soft and easy to use however, so used this.
In addition, they generally make the hole drilling in the white metal almost impossible, I have drilled into my fingers so many times and broken so many bits, and typically it is too easy to break thru the holes too
The 917/30 is a real pain
Need an affordable option for the boots, but can rarely find them on Ebay

Re: 1/12 Gurney Eagle Westlake
A good update here
Layout of parts prior to assembly
Wheels assembled
Front brakes and uprights assembled
Started assembly of side panels, picture a little dark
Polishing to be done soon on these panels
Engine and wiring / tubing complete
Joined front tub to engine bay, not too bad
And front upper suspension in process, ready to install to chassis
