MFH 1:12 Lotus 97t "Senna 1st victory"
MFH 1:12 Lotus 97t "Senna 1st victory"
Though I started the build several weeks ago, I want to show you some progress of my first MFH Kit - the Lotus 97t. Comparing to Tamiya Kits its quite more challenging. You have to adjust a lot of parts, only a little but without it won't fit. In general its recommendable to dry fit all of the parts to avoid bad surprises.
Ok, lets start with some impressions from the beginning:
After cleaning and dry fitting, working mostly through the night - due to my little daughter - I finished the Engine 3 weeks after starting at the end of February.
Ok, i hope you like it.

Re: MFH Lotus 97t "Senna 1st victory"
I started to work on the monocoque and the suspension parts, 3 weeks ago i finished the part.. but it wasn't´t satisfying. the most annoying issue was a big gap between the undertray and the clear coated side parts. Also the suspension looks not very professional. So i decided to build it again. I cut the suspension part into four, my orientation was a another Lotus 97t build here on F1M.com. But please have a look:
Sometimes I add some tiny pins, because the bad fitting of the parts... at least at my kit
Working on the monocoque was easy, the decals are quite easy to work with, but the fitting isn´t that perfect. Most of the big decals art too big.. The drivers seat got a little washing for the used look.
At the same time i was working on the first clear coated parts...
Yesterday the kit looks like that:
See you soon with more progress..

Wow! Beautiful start on your 97T.

I’m about to finish this same kit. Be aware that the decal instruction on the sides of the rear wing are not correct. The GoodYear logo should be on top and the 12 should be right below that. I just found out the hard way, yesterday...
