MFH 1/12 Ferrari 126 C4 and 126 C4 M2

Post by ferrarissimus »

The three MFH versions of the 126 C4 are waiting for building in my home stock for a long time. So I decided to do a double build of the first and last version. Don't know if this was a good decision, because the progress is very slow. In my Ferrari library I have these books for reference.

In these books are many hints for the building but there is no picture for the undertray of the C4 M2 just as in the internet. Some photos show a black carbon, some a yellow or gold. Has anyone an idea?

On other photos both bottles have same color what I realized in the 126 C4M2. I started with the dashboard. A detailed photo is to be found in the Ferrari yearbook from 1984. [attachment=4]On other photos both bottles have same color what I realized in the 126 C4M2.JPG
At first I made a carbon structure on the dashboard, but later realized that is in metal

I don't like the suede sheet included in the kit for the leather covered seat. This material is not flexible enough and you can not fix it without any folds.
The difficulty is the seat's concave form in two directions.
I made a negative form from the seat with gypsum, so I have two convex dircetions.

I used a very thin natural leather, that is very flexible in all directions

fixed it with pins at the gypsum form made it wet by water and dried it with a hair dryer.

The leather keeps the form when dry.

Now you can glue it at the seat and cut the excess.

For the first seat I used the suede surface, but I was not fully satisfied. It is a little bit too rough. So I used for the second seat the smooth surface and sanded it to change the shine. This is more satisfying.
