Re: WIP: 1:24 Tamiya Jaguar XJR-9LM
Bulkhead update,
I started work on the engine side of the bulkhead, a fair bit of work needed here to bring this up to a better detail level...
I scratch built the blue piping to the left side of the bulkhead, added hoses to to the coolant header tanks and also to the oil tank. The turned hose ends I'm using are from Sakatsu. The ignition unit on the right needed a new 'box' which I made out of drilled plasticard. I have a few more wires and hoses to add to this yet, there are some nice etched parts to add too, but it's getting there.
Finally I added the rear bulkhead to the interior section, finished the CF decals and then added the remaining wiring. Also added a comms box to the left of the seat and included a coiled cable, it's a little over size but still adds a little extra detail.

Re: WIP: 1:24 Tamiya Jaguar XJR-9LM
Update...
Made a start on the floor plan, removed the two moulded rear upright sections that sit in front of the rear wheels and replaced them with some etch pieces from the S27 set, these are much more detailed and are more accurate in terms of thickness compared to the kit moulded plastic pieces...
I scratch built the two upright end sections that sit either side of the dashboard, on the 1:1 car the driver's side especially has some nice switch gear which added to the detail of the cockpit.
I have also completed the work around the front of the floor plan, as the cover is removable this all needs to be de detailed, I fitted the radiator and added hoses and also scratch built the bulkhead section just behind the radiator using my references.
Thanks for following peeps

Re: WIP: 1:24 Tamiya Jaguar XJR-9LM
Thanks for the kind words, here's another little update...
Started work on replacing the rear suspension units - pretty straightforward so far.
The front inboard suspension assembly is all getting scratch built, although I've used some springs from the spares box.
... and with this all put together and painted...
and finally a test fit under the front bodywork!
I also completed the front radiator details with two etched side panels added and a towing eye from the S27 etch set.

Re: WIP: 1:24 Tamiya Jaguar XJR-9LM
Update...
I will be replacing the moulded kit brake discs with this aftermarket set...
and the trumpets and injector components will be completely rebuilt...
The moulded badging on the V12 engine was sanded off and replaced with etched pieces from the S27 set. This was then all painted and weathered.
So the engine is installed and most of the assembly work is now completed, the brake discs are on, with plumbing added to the calipers, I also added brake cables and fuel hoses, the blue cooling pipes and a number of etched enhancements. There is a still a good deal of wiring and hoses still to add but it's starting to look a little busier!

That's incredible.
When you announced this project with all the aftermarket stuff to add, I was sure it will keep you busy for a long time. But seeing your progress so far, the high quality of your build and the speed, I would not be surprised if you finish the Jag until the end of the year.
