Interesting work. I might be interested in Monaco version. Are you doing whole upper cover or just rear part ?gilles.r wrote:Hi

I'm still studying my references. I suspect you have more. Would you be able to share yours ? PM ?

Re: WIP: Brabham BT46 Italian GP 1978 Niki Lauda
Hi
Thank you for your interests in these projects
These works are for now 3d prototypes drawings
They will be existing soon physically ...to examine the quality and decide if I continue and If I could sell them
Monaco version will be the main complete cowling as Tamiya
France will be as fancar kit cowling , upgraded as seen on the picture
Yes , I’ld be interested to sell them ...as cheap as possible : to cover the development fees firstly and win a little bit money to develop another transkit by a similar process
But no decision before I get the prototypes
If it is positive ...they wil be shown immediatly here !
Bye

Re: WIP: Brabham BT46 Italian GP 1978 Niki Lauda
I've decided to add simulated rivets for this model, using Archer fine transfers. This is first time for me.
Watched video tutorial at decals maker's site and followed process almost exactly. Only deviation was use
of Miro-Set to help decals settle better. Without Micro-Set it was difficult to move and position decals and
they did not want to stick well. Over all result is satisfactory, even if it may not be 100% accurate. Got as
close as my patience allowed me. There are many more rivets on real car. But I was not willing to spend
extra time on those less visible. It's a time consuming process and I'm not even sure rivets will show that
well on finished model. We'll see.
Dilemma I am faced with now is if should prime again over rivets or could I just apply Zero Alfa Romeo color
directly ? From past experience I know that light color Zero paints are somewhat transparent and will probably
not cover black spots well. But I don't know for sure. At the moment I am leaning towards extra light coat of
primer to cover them before main color is applied.

Hi Sergey,
If you have some spare rivet decals, you could try the "spoon test" and paint over them to see if you will need to apply thinner over the rivets first.
Keep the good work,
Cheers,
Starr

My experiences with Zero paints have always been good, however I would definitely prime that again before adding the paint, Zero paints are as you say very translucent! Excellent job all the same!
