Re: Hell Of A Ligier JS11
Happy Holidays Guys,
Here’s a revival of my Heller WIP.
Took the few days of Christmas break & will myself to work on the Hell er Ligier as it is actually so close to completion.
Added fasteners to the side pods as they look so blank & also the louvers painted at last.
Got the white of the tub sprayed & decaled & also the top of the fuel tank detailed with parts from my spare box & fixed in the roll hoop. BTW, the decals are so fragile & non stick that I ended up using some of the kits decals to repair the damages. Once its decaled TS13 went on to prevent further damage.
Super glued in the front suspension piece, side pontoons & engine. The inside corners of the side pontoons are reinforced with spruce & superglue as there is no mounting or enough surface area for glue to hold on to. Even the sliding skirts stop at different heights! The short right side has a stopper to prevent it from sliding further inside. Because eventually the model is going to sits on the skirts.
Realised too late that the rear engine cover don’t fit in anymore as its obstructed by the exhaust pipes.
Balance work is to finish the front suspension of which I managed to lose one of the support for the spring. Create supports for the nose, finish up the visible plumbing, seat belts………………… Phew! Seems like a long way to go still.
Cheers
Lee

Re: Hell Of A Ligier JS11
Did some work last nite & got the front end buckle down with some screws as the plastic is so fragile & the joints keep snapping. The sliding skirts were laid with aluminium stickers & the front tires completed at last & now fit the wheels properly by stuffing it with bands of Heller tires to expand the width.
Next will be the seat belts & consideration whether to break & re align the exhaust that is obstructing the engine cover.
Don't think this will reach the finish line of end 2017.

Re: Hell Of A Ligier JS11
Thanks for the encouragement & yes, Olivier, the decals are from Indycals. But there are so very fragile & not very sticky.
Got both side skirts finished at last & "Johnson Klear" it with a brush to protect the fragile decals which is a mix from my spares to depict the Monaco GP car.
Seat belts are from bandage tape painted blue & not 100% completed yet.
The next thing is to sort out the nose cone supports & brake cylinders followed by wiring & plumbing works.
All the final paint touch ups will be done last.
Cheers
