Another McLaren MP4/6
Hello everybody! New to this forum. 50 yrs old. Used to build models when I was young but I stopped when I was 16. Started studies in Medicine and eventually became specialist in Hand and Microsurgery. In the meantime, I forgot my hobby but I was still attracted by the miniature world. I own a collection of movie busts and figures. I bought last year a Schwartzenegger terminator 2 figure from Hot-toys and I tried to find the famous Harley Motorbike to go with it. Eventually found the Tamiya model on Ebay and decided to buy it. Found it not only very funny to build after 34 years of inactivity, but I was surprised to see that my actual job gave me a big advantage to build such small models. I use magnifying loupes (x4) and microsurgery instruments, which are perfect to handle small objects !
But as you know, modelling is not only handling ... So I quickly learned about airbrush, photoetched parts,... and I decided to build the famous McLaren MP4/6 1/12 from Tamiya, with the additional Topstudio detailed kit and a lot of other small pieces...
Some mistakes up to now, but always able to fix them...
I am actually finishing the engine...
I'll need some help for the next steps and hope that some builders on this forum will be able to give me some advices

Wow! Welcome!
That picture of the Harley looks like the actual bike if you hadn't told us I'd think it's 1:1.
I can see your attention to detail. Your day job has prepared you well for model building. Lol.

Very nice start on the Engine, i`m in love when i see the Top Studio Set used, seems like you added a few RB Parts too.
The Harley looks good too, got one in my stash too, nice work!

Thank you for your messages
Indeed ! Detailed kit from Topstudio and extra stuff from RBMotion, Tuner model Manufactory etc...
Some pieces custom-made...
Some work on the brakes...
... On the belt
Corrected some mistakes from Top studio kit as well !
Mainly inspired by Joe Honda's Book..
P.S. : click on pics for better res.
