Wow, even the foot pedals look cool. And I can almost hear the 12 cylinder whine from that beautifully detailled motor. More great work, Marcus!

If I wasn't following this w.i.p. since the beginning, I would swear looking at those last pictures that they were from the real car, not a 1/12 scale model.

Bravo!

Thank you for your continuing support, these are some great compliments! :)

Back with another micro-update. Finished the anti-roll bar link rods, and did a little proof of concept for the oil hoses.
The kit parts are way too long. They are not very visible on the car, so I didn't feel like fully scratchbuilding them. Instead I shortened them...

Sprayed them Alclad chrome, and with a bit of fiddling they're in place nicely.

I was not patient enough to install a bolt head on the insides... too much looking forward to a nice friday night beer :) I'll try again tomorrow morning.

This is my favourite reference pic for the rear end. Now I need to replicate these terribly ugly plastic oil hoses.

The idea is to cover a piece of stretched spring with heat shrink tubing, heat the thing, and pull the spring out. (Thanks David for the springs, finally I'm at the stage that I can use them!)

After some experimentation... should work! The yellow and blue stuff is better than the grey, but they'll need to be painted. The main problem now is that the results are very rigid when cooled, so the next challenge is to "drape" them in a natural way.

Marcus,
A hugely inspiring build and I am delighted the springs are of some use...they are much better on your masterpiece than sitting in my stash!

Thanks Cedric, and great to know you're still watching David!

More experimenting with the oil hoses/tubes. They're not the prettiest parts of the car, but they definitely make it come alive a little bit more. At least two more (much longer) ones are still needed, so I have to be careful they don't get in the way of the (upcoming) throttle mechanism. All tubes were roughly bent into shape while still hot, and where necessary they're filled with metal wire for extra bending capability.

Thanks for watching,

Very nice, in the same category as an Andy Matthews build. Sell it for $10,000.00.

Thanks Pascal, Jerry...

I have no intention of selling -- but thanks for the first bid!

Another small step: oil system is now finished, except maybe for rerouting some of the tubes when they get in the way of other parts.
Started work on the throttle mechanism. Kit parts on the right.

All oil tubes in place, posing with the new throttle parts ;)

Superb, as usual. I love how you did those oil tubes.
