Re: 1/12 MFH Williams FW11B
I expect to receive mine in a couple of days. I am sleepless (instead I could build some for the endless number of kits I already have).

Gonna be watching this as well. You should be well up to speed with the Honda V6.

Re: 1/12 MFH Williams FW11B
A little teaser for now
So all parts polished, all resin parts soaked for 3 days in Bleche White, washed with soap and dried, light sanding and ready for painting
These parts were polished then put in with the resin for 3 days, this is the result:
And some of the beautifully cast resin pieces, basically as good as Tamiya plastic or better, no mould lines or release marks at all:
More to come after this weekend

Re: 1/12 MFH Williams FW11B
Soaking the metal parts is a nice effect. I started doing that as well after seeing your efforts. Even tried putting the parts back into the polisher for 15 seconds ..a minute, etc to see if I could highlight edges. I think the polisher can do alot more than it was designed for ...if I can learn how to use it. Do you like the textured wings more than smooth surfaces?
Re: 1/12 MFH Williams FW11B
A trick I've learned is that if you keep polishing the parts in dirty water, it sort of beats that smut into the surface, giving a darker effect. Not as dark/strong as as the Bleche Wite, but more of a steel-ey look.
Je ne regrette rien.

Re: 1/12 MFH Williams FW11B
Ill have to check my references, the affect is nice on the wings, but I don't think realistic, as most of the finished carbon fiber on wings and undertray is typically smooth, the monocoques is where you typically see the more rough surfaces and the texture and on the underside of the cowlings and body parts

I have seen that too if you leave the parts in polisher too long in dirty water, but that doesn't stay on completely and can be washed off, where this is more permanent
