Hi Folks,
r33nz, Thank you!!
Hi Pete ! Thanks my friend, sorry to have missed you at GSL. Mark said you did not come this time.
Hi Harvey, Appreciate the comments
Thanks gavrob !!
Thanks Bruce !!
Hi Decs0105, Glad you like it !
update....Making up the pedal box
Small progress but do have lots of pics !
Making up the three reservoirs from white metal sprue and small bits...
Various parts for the pedals...
Throttle cable bell crank....
The GT40's did not have ajustable seats, they had ajustable pedal boxes. Brackets for mounting to top of tub...
Parts for the parking brake linkage that is attached to the pedal box....
Now I see if it will cram into the tub
Thanks for looking in !
Randy

Hi Folks,
First off, a BIG THANK YOU to those that took the time to comment on this build. Apologies for not thanking you sooner!!!
Finally getting around to an update...
Working on making the steering wheel and column, I wanted the steering wheel to turn so the knuckle coupling had to function and I used telescoping tubing for the column. The column will just dead end in the rack. The idea being when I pose the wheels in a turned position I can also pose the steering wheel in the correct way.

Made up a new wheel.....
Next up is the ZF transaxle and bell housing. Using styrene ... ref. pics of a RBT replica and the bell housing.

Re: Adventures in soldering: The GT40 project 4/14/16 update
Wow! really incredible work. Just wondering, should you decide to paint this model you'll have to disassemble it right? is that possible?
