1/12 MFH Ferrari 126/C2
Re: 1/12 MFH Ferrari 126/C2
Strange thing on the cam covers is they changed the colour from race to race, my F1 Modeling special issue of 126 C2 showed the red covers in Las Vegas, but a silver one too, in Holland the have been Titan gold, but no picture from Spa included, only the outside of the car.
Take a stand!

Thanks Chris! I appreciate the comments.CBartholomew4677 wrote:Great work on the 126C2!!! Such a clean build, and the additional details and work you've put into it really stand out.
Keep up the great work!

It's the great builds on this site that keep pushing me to learn and take those extra steps. I do enjoy getting bogged down in the details though. Most of the time the results are ok. This MFH kit has been a pleasure to build even after some of my early mishaps.

Nice work Turbo! What’s the gold color for the cam covers? Looks spot on.
Cheers

It’s 50% Mr. Color Silver-Chrome and 50% Gold.
Mr Color and Alclad are my favorite paints for non-bodywork.
Used Alclad Aluminum on the engine block.
Use Tamiya X-18 and their Gun Metal for painting and weathering also.

I saw that picture even before I painted the cover.jordan wrote:The valve covers from Gilles car @ Zolder
Alex.
But I decided to go with the MFH recommendation in their instructions.
While my choice is probably wrong I couldn’t find any other picture of the car’s engine prior to the accident to corroborate the color. My thinking was what if there was a small fire that melted the paint off or gasoline sprayed over the engine. Of course the Ferrari logo is ok but what if that was clear coated etc. Long story short I wasn’t sure so I just used the recommended color.
