Re: 3x Lotus 102 Variants
Working on engines / gearboxes now. I tried to bring out some details with a silver drybrushing. Here's the Lamborgini version:
Judd engine of the Lotus 102B:
And the Ford of the 102D variant:
All in all a great airbrush orgy
I think that's all for 2016, will hopefully complete the builds early in 2017!

Speechless, 3 gorgeous models being built to such level! You are doing such a great job, I go back and keep looking at those pictures! I love every detail you added and made yourself on those cars!

Re: 3x Lotus 102 Variants
While still working on the Lotus "backends", I'm in the "helmets!" mood recently! Will try to build helmet of the actual drivers of my projects.
Problem is to find correct decals. I made some test shots with self-designed decals on resin copies of old Tamiya/Hasegawa helmets:
Andretti's 1976 version (to complement the Lotus 77)
Häkkinens 1991 version (Lotus 102B):
and finally Herbert's 1990 Japanese GP version (for Lotus 102):
Sizes seem to be almost correct, but I need to find correct helmet models.

Re: 3x Lotus 102 Variants
Here's Mario Andrettis 1979 Monaco GP version:
And Johnny Herberts helmet from the 1990 Japanese GP received a major rework and is almost complete:
This time I used a helmet from GF-Models, which also fits nicely to the decals!

Re: 3x Lotus 102 Variants
Back to the cars...
I assembled the engines/gearboxes and painted the exhausts.
This is how the Lambo looks now, fit of the exhaust is surprisingly really good:
Overview of all together:
Now electric cabling and hydraulic lines are waiting on three engines

The engines look great! Nice comparison of three powerplants, with them sitting together like that.
Cheers, Chris
