F92A my first WIP
Hi guys!
This is my first WIP! I hope you'll like it!
I'm working on the F92A, one of the worst Ferrari considering performance, but one of the greatest as to look, jet-style: I love those sidepods detached from chassis and from flat-floor!
This is the Fujimi/Modeler's kit and I will use also PE from Fujimi.
Two moulded side pods supports were broken and they are too thick, so I decided to cut off them all. I will change them with floppy disks springs cutted to size.
In order to point out the line of the front shock-absorber bay, I used Indycals panel lines decal (thank you Michael!) after white primer and before red coats. I like the result!
That's all folks!
Next days I will take some pictures of mirrors and front aileron I'm working on.
Bye. Ciao.
Pierluigi

Re: F92A my first WIP
Looking good so far. A hard kit to get right, I know I've finished one a month ago. Think you may have commented on it actually. Are you building the engine or fastening the bodywork down? If you intend to glue the body down to get a a good fit I would recommend removing the rear shock absorbers as they seriously restrict the fit. Will be watching your progress with interest...

Good start ! Those Sidepod supports look really fragile IMHO.

Re: F92A my first WIP
Hi everybody!
I'm not very fast modeling, you know, work+wife+2 doughters+2cats=little time, so only now I can update my WIP with some new pics.
Thank you all very much for your comments!
I will build the engine and let the engine-cowling removable, but I will try something for the exhausts, those in the kit are awful.
I finished the front aileron and the mirrors.
For the mirrors I did similar work to that done by Cresce in his WIP.
Thanks for looking and happy modeling!

Daveyman, I really like your F92A (but those black belts... I think I won the great prize finding the"wrong" detail )daveyman wrote:Looking good so far. Re: F92A my first WIP
Hi guys!
Small update on the F92A, I almost finished the monocoque and, following Steffen "sh-modeling" work on his 102s, I tryed Shapeways 3d printing for engine exhausts.
Che spettacolo!
What a beautiful service! Endless possibilities!
Next days I'll try the fitting.
Happy modeling!

Re: F92A my first WIP
VERY nice.
Question: Can I buy a copy of those exhausts. They are WAY better than the parts included in the kit. Actually those kit exhausts are the worst parts in the kit.
