Re: F40 work in progress
Hello,
It’s an amazing Wip, and it seems like you are building the real car in your garage.
That’s really cool to see this crazy Assy.
Cheers

Re: F40 work in progress
You are really doing top-ntch work on your F40. I really like what you did with the air ducts as shown in the last photos. Really amazing.
Keep going.
All the Best,
Paul

Thanks guys for your comments. The more I get into this project. The more I see that needs to be corrected.

Re: F40 work in progress
Hi F40,
I agree with your observations on more and more to add or correct. I've looked at a lot of F40 LM pics myself and there were many modifications Pocher must have needed to maek in order to produce these.
You are doing such a great recreation of the real car and catch so many of the details that need to be added.
Have a lot of bodyfiller ready for all the exterior body work. Maybe your's is in better shape than mine, but when I took the paint of mine a couple of years ago I recall noticing a lot of areas that needed attention.
Are you thinking of using automotive paint for the main body?
Cheers,
Paul

Re: F40 work in progress
Paul you definitly need alot of putty and a ton of sand paper and good files.I had thoughts of powder coating the car but I think it is to expensive. I am going to use automotive etching primer and then automotive paint for color with urathane clear coats. Then I will rub and polish out the clear.

Re: F40 work in progress
Hi F40,
Having the body powder coated is a really neat idea. It might not be too expensive but a problem could occur with the body fillers underneath. I agree with your direction and choice of paint. There are some really amazing clear coats and some additives that can be put in them to get a nearly perfect finish right out of the gun.
Keep posting. I'm enjoying seeing and reading about your progress.
Stay Well,
Paul

Small update bodywork on airducts almost finished. A lot of work went into this, which is why it took so long. Thanks for looking!
