WIP: McLaren MP4/6 and M23 Pitscene
Re: WIP: McLaren MP4/6 and M23 Pitscene
Both looking great, good job!
Just 2 small points, the M23 windshield should be tinted yellow for Villeneuve and the Calsonic on the radiators for MP 4/6 are only used at the german Grand Prix
Keep up the nice work!

Re: WIP: McLaren MP4/6 and M23 Pitscene
Thanks!! From my reference pics I didn’t notice the windshield is tinted yellow, but that would be easy to correct is it just a real light yellow tint in your opinion?
Didn’t know about the calsonic! Would have been easier not to spray it But ok for me right now. In the end there probably will be more time incorrect details…
Re: WIP: McLaren MP4/6 and M23 Pitscene
Yes it is not realy visible on some pictures cause it is a very light yellow tint, i guess it was clear material which turned a bit yellowish by heating to form the shape.
Here is another shot i found where it is slightly visible.

Hunts 76 Car had a stronger tinted windshield in comparsion, but don`t know why, maybe different material or else...
Anyway, very nice work, love it!

Thanks!! I think I try to tint it with some very diluted x-24.

Can`t post a direct link, i mean the picture where the mechanic is fixing the cowl, standing on the left side of the car. In the lower section of the list.
It`s surely not a must to do that, looks also good the way you build it.

Thanks Thomas!
Today I worked a bit on the TV monitor and the wings! Next job is to continue with the crew and tools for the MP4/6.
Thanks for watching!

Hello,
Both kit look really great, it's not often that we can see the M23 of Gilles Villeneuve, the driver figure to your MP4/6 give life to your F1, let's wait the rest of the crew, are they from the 90's Tamiya box? that will be intersting to see those built as well.
Cheers

Re: WIP: McLaren MP4/6 and M23 Pitscene
Thanks! Yes they are! It’s going to be a lot of work getting those painted. I’ve got decals from decalpool. I hope I can make them as realistic as possible. When I was young I’ve built the figures for my Tyrrell 021, but lost them through the years, probably because they were not that pretty Hope I can do a better job now! And after the 90’s crew, I need to built the 70’s crew as well. Lots of figures..GF-F1 wrote: ↑Thu May 16, 2024 3:28 pm Hello,
