Peopoly Phenom XXL. Build volume is 530 x 300 x 550 mm (21 x 30 x 22") . with a pixel size of 130 um.

Forget 1/12. It's probably do most 1/8 scale projects!

Je ne regrette rien.

What should it cost? The Peopoly Phenom cost just under $ 2,000.

Yes, it looks impressive.
There are more details on the Peopoly website:
https://peopoly.net/products/phenom-l-by-peopoly
Its impressive, not just in the size, but also the quality of both prints and the printer itself. The smaller Phenom seems like one of the best resin printers out there, so I can imagine this will be as good if not better.

But for me, it is too big.
Even forgetting the print size and the cost of it, it is a huge thing to have and sit in your modeling/hobby room (if you are that lucky), and I would not have space for it.
Anycubic is releasing a Photon Mono X, which will be smaller and so quite a bit more realistic. Both the physical size, but also the costs that comes with it.
Even with its build volume of 12 x 25 x 25 cm, it is more than enough for a 1/20 kit.
I am looking forward to that coming out and the reviews coming in.
Currently building:
Alfa Romeo 159 (since 2021)
Recently finished:
Renault R30 (since 2010)

Wow, that is an entire 1/12 sized car right there, nice.

However, isn't the resolution a tad on the low side? 130 um @ 4k (actually more like 138 um)? The Photon is listed with 47 um using a 2k display (2.560 x 1.440, 534 ppi, 68,04 x 120,96 mm). And especially in the aircraft model scene people got back to me with how that's not fine enough because they get steps in their prints showing the resolution. In their case I believe the issue was the vertical (z-axxis) steps though. I thought it might be judders, but that particular person disagreed (although he didn't, at the time, have the z-axxis upgrade). Anyway, to match the pixelsize of the Photon it would need a display with 11.276 x 6.382 pixels - and that's even beyond 8k displays out today.
Of course you could argue you do not need that resolution at that size, just send the steps and you'll be fine (literally) but hey, I would wish for manufacturers to have interchangeable displays, so you could upgrade your thing at a later time. Because, let's face it. 4k is getting affordable these days, 8k is a 2-3 years off (at least).

That aside, I'm looking forward to this. Thanks for posting!
Cheers,
Roman
