Porsche 908/3 Reference Pictures
For those of you who will be modeling the 908/3 from MFH in 1/12th scale if you did not get these the first time I posted them, here is a link. 10 pages of bliss. Car was restored by Reinhold Joest as the 1971 Nürburgring winner and sold to a funny Porsche collector who repainted it as the 1970 Targa Florio winner (Same Chassis). I worked on the car when it was repainted. These are my pictures, I took them. Feel free to use them. These pictures are of the restored car which I believe were used by MFH to develop both their 1/24th and 1/12th kits because the 1/24th kits have some mistakes showing. Example: the fire bottle location. Period correct images reveal there was no fire bottle located under the nose like how MFH has depicted in the 1/12th version. This feature was an add on to the restored car which MFH copied perfectly in 1/24. My point is, If you want to make a perfect period correct representation of the 908/3 you will need to do more research and leave a few items off that are included in the kit.

FWIW, the link is, as of today, almost impossible to get through with the spam and malware attempts.

Sorry to hear about your trouble. Photobucket has added a lot of advertising to help pay for the site. Sucks for those of us who paid for their service but they have to do something to cover cost when cheap people refuse to pay and always demand free service.Trs7139 wrote:FWIW, the link is, as of today, almost impossible to get through with the spam and malware attempts.

A tip for folks trying to get the most out of this great resource.
The adds are not the issue, it is the pop up sites that take over and you cannot quit.
My Ipad was having an issue, the MAC everything was fine but, folks, make sure you have great pop up blocker protection.
Thanks again

Re: Porsche 908/3 Reference Pictures
Folks...a question.
I have started the “C” edition, #8 ‘71 Targa version.
There is, in this kit an access port in the side of the rear deck, into the bulkhead between the deck & the door which has a 2 part resin plug/cover suggesting a blocked off port.
I can find zero photo or reference suggesting this or other port in this area, blocked off or not.
Anybody have thought ?
Obviously since it is included with fair detail in 2 parts, I can only assume it should be built that way except any image of right side seems to be a full panel .
