The car as originally released by Tamiya was just as Porsche sold the car. That is as a street car outfitted to go racing. So it was sold with two seats and treaded road going tires. So that is how Tamiya released it. It would never have been raced with two seats, I don't think that the FIA would have allowed two seats in a Group 4 car.

Slick tires are what this model should have been released with all along if the intent is to build a race car. In fact Tamiya has always had a set of slick tires available for this car but they only ever included them in the RC version and they are Goodyears not Dunlops. The RC version of this model was released with different livery and required Goodyears. Slick Dunlop tires would be what you want on all four corners for your build.

Thanks for the info! :)
I have since read an article on one of the Jager cars that definitely has only one seat, and the rears were removed. Ironically though, it was underweight for it's class, so they left in place some interior trim, as well as fully operational power windows.
