DONE - tires Tamiya 1/12 Ferrari 312T and Tyrrell
Hi all,
I'm considering of doing a batch of copies in resin, to avoid the problems with rubber, of the included tires for:
1/12 Tamiya Ferrari 312T
1/12 Tamiya Tyrrell Ford
The tires will need few clean and paint. For the tyrrell maybe i'll do a 3d printed template for the round markings (we'll see)
I want to use them in my builds (Ferrari 312T https://www.f1m.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=11010 and Tyrrell Ford https://www.f1m.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=11612)
Are anyone interrested on them? I don't know the price for them yet, because I have to see what's best.
Will be a short run, maybe one or two sets, if interrested let me know and I'll take note in order. There's no need to pay anything until they are done, I just want to know if someone is interrested.
Thanks
Edgar

As I was discussing with Edgar all the particularities of casting tyres, I decided t put it all together so everyone can enjoy it (or suffer it!! ), I put all what I learnt, but ask if you have doubts.
I tried to be as clear as possible.
Ah, when I try, I can draw better, I swear!!!
If can avoid you some of the setbacks I found, then better!!

Interested, provided the quality is excellent, sidewall lettering is engraved, etc

Which are the problems with the tyres? I have a Tyrrell since more than 30 years and haven't seen nothing
Re: Interrested on tires Tamiya 1/12 Ferrari 312T and Tyrrel
It depends... I have seen some new with that age, and also remember to see destroyed ones as soon as back in 1982.
Rubber degrades and breaks. Sometimes rubber melts, some is the rim that melts.
Anyway, in most cases, rubber will break sooner or later.

Thanks for your interest.Joaquin wrote:Ok Edgar, I would be interested but need more details about markings on the sidewall of the tyres and so on
My intention is to clone the existing sidewalls of the rubber tires.
If you want to remove the G***year logo would be easy on resin instead of rubber.
Anyway, I'll show the results once achieved. In doing this to myself and I want the maximum detail possible too.
Thanks again

Hi, I've done a test to see the quality of the lettering, I'm considering redoing the rear tires to improve them.
This set is for Tyrrell f1 if someone interested on it let me know. I'll do a 3d printed templates for the blue circles and maybe templates for the good**** lettering.
Probably I'll do just a couple sets for Tyrrell; first come, first served let me know by this post or PM

They look awesome!
That's already the resin "production" parts or 3D printing?
