Scale Motorsport has a new product announcement!

Great news this morning! Scale Motorsport is alive and kicking! They just announce their first new product in a while. It is a new super detail set for the Revell GT 40! I don't know what is in it, but knowing Scale Motorsport and Matthew Wells it will be outstanding. It is not on their web site but it is on the facebook page.

Just for clarity this is for the Revell Ford GT Le Mans kit. The reports of their demise last year were inaccurate.

Not so much inaccurate more that SMS could not find anyone to purchase the business at the terms set in front of them. Many of us, me included did look into the nuts and bolts of buying SMS. I can not say much because of the NDA I signed but I just could not accept the terms. That was the deal beaker for me.

Nice to see them moving forward and yes Pete it is the Ford GT not GT40.

Understand you can't discuss it, but as I said the reports were they were shutting down, not that they were looking to sell. Obviously if they sell the likelyhood is they would not shut down

As if today Craig the kit will include upgraded brake discs and calipers, marker light, fuel filler cap valve stems, and wheels. We have yet to decide whether or not the wheels will be aluminum or resin. The kit will also extensive photoetch and carbon fiber decals. And we we may have a @paint package” sold separately. Again the list may change.

I believe that with the resins set of "decalcas" (which has the most important thing, the diffuser and the wheels) and the set of photo-etched parts of "Top Studio" we already have everything necessary and surely for half the price of SMS. But, we will see.

That's pretty nit-picky considering that the announcement about them shutting down came from Matthew himself (shared here originally by me). It was only later that he entertained some interest in others acquiring the business.
