I like the shape. Looks cool. Hope it becomes a racing car at some point. At least a super car.

Does it fit in any rules package that would allow it to race? It looks nothing like prevailing LeMan prototypes. Maybe Porsche could build a few for street or track only like Ferrari FXK. It is a lovely car, also interesting to see what they are powering it with. Is possibly a electric or plug in hybrid?

As you all know racing is in such a tight box anymore, that we don’t have the wild indication of the early 1970’s. It would be nice to have a more run what you build spirit again in some series with minimal rules mainly related to safety.

I thought I saw the Porsche characteristic boxer fan in the straight-down view. So maybe if it's a hybrid, they kept the classic engine concept. What do I know, maybe a boxer is just not efficient enough anymore. It sure looks nicer than the prototype blobs in endurance racing these days. :?

Can't wait to see it IR next month when I'll pay a visit (my 6th time) to the Porsche Museum.
It's nonetheless interesting to say this is a few years old concept/tribute - Porsche kept it secrets to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the mighty 917 this year.
I repeat, can't wait :-)

Honestly? Other than the livery it has nothing on the 917. This basically looks like a mashup of the Carrera GT and the 918 that has
been rebodied with some after market panels. I don't like it. I'd rather have a plain 918, but then again I haven't seen this one in
the flesh. Maybe that will change my mind - even if I doubt it. I think there was a "private" 917 concept in some design contest a
while back that I really liked.

Anyway, this reminds me that I still need to go see the special 917 exhibit at Stuttgart soon before it ends in September. 917/30
is still missing personal reference photos :). I only have a bunch of it's engine from the "exploded view" exhibition some years ago.
Cheers,
Roman
