Heads up - excellent Porsche 956 book at cheap price
Hi
From German model car supplier C-K Modelcars I have recently bought a very comprehensive book regarding Porsche 956 (NB: 962 is not covered)
There is a ton of interesting photos and sidedrawings of most - if not all the liveries used by every 956 through history in the early 1980's
Every chassisnumber is covered in detail, with photos, drawings of liveries, and a detailed account of racehistory. Text is german is has to be said - but pictures are in any language you might want! But the lowered price at 20 euros compared to original 70 euros makes this a hard to resist bargain.
https://ck-modelcars.de/da/bog-porsche- ... 6/p-21549/
I can recommend it 100%
Best regards
Flemming

No, it is only in german written, but it does not realy matter, what you get is all modelers are searching for, each 956 chassis number is listed with drawings and pictures of each livery it ever run. I guess it`s even for english people easy to find out which races etc the cars run, i`m using even japanese books where i can`t read anything, the pictures are what i`m searching for, and this book is realy easy to understand. With costs lower then the MFH book about 956, i would allways choose this one as it tells and shows the complete history of 956 racing cars. All i can say is, buy it, you will be surprised what you get for 20 bucks!

Yes, the Porsche book is only in German available. But for 20€ it's really great.
The Alfa book got only two pucs from the 33/12 version. And both are only from the outside. Nothing technically or interesting for a modeler.
Sorry!

Re: Heads up - excellent Porsche 956 book at cheap price
There is an English version of this book. Cover design is different and unfortunately its not on sale for $20.

https://www.abebooks.com/9782951873773/ ... 873778/plp
Those prices are not too bad though. I think I paid a bit over $100 when it came out.

The english version is ..... how do i call it.... first edition maybe? It`s close to be identical, the new edition is a bit more complete i think. I had the oppertunity to watch this book cause a friend of mine owns it, or better both. There are a few different pictures included, but not realy much, the biggest difference is the price, cause it is an older book and rare on market, but you get quiet the same informations.

Re: Heads up - excellent Porsche 956 book at cheap price
Nice find.
Interesting book on the 956. I've recently started actually reading books from my racing library instead of just
getting more and more of them without ever reading them and am fixed on getting more, especially if they
cover the development of the cars in questions (sportscars / prototypes prefered) and take care of the tech
details (i.e. as Wingrove does in the 917 undercover story..). So does the 956 book join those ranks of good
reference material (i.e. actual detail shots, drawings, ...)?
Plus I've seen some other books that tickle my fancy, some of which have been on my shortlist for a while,
like the "Die Ära der Porsche Prototypen - 1964 bis 1973" and also "Porsche Rennwagen - 1953 bis 1975" by
Brian Long. Are those any good? I mean at a tenner each, there shouldn't be much to argue, but I don't need
another book covering same old, same old with nothing new to add, cheap or not .
