Clear View F1 Williams FW14B by Andy Mathews
Clear View F1, Williams FW14B by Andy Mathews.
I have come across an extra copy of this book. It has a very small 1cm tear in the front cover of the dust jacket. Otherwise the book is in pristine condition. Does anyone know what it is worth these days??
Thanks

I suspect prices are fairly high. I found a copy a few years ago at a reasonable price when someone had a number of copies to sell. I suspect auction history would tell on ebay but I don't know the going rate. I got mine for around $50.00 but I suspect they are going a lot more than that.

Hi Derek,
I'm sure there has been at least a few members here looking for that publication from time to time.
Why not put it up For Sale here first? If it doesn't sell, then dump it on eBay.
Cheers, Paul

Yah, no completed or sold listing on eBay. Probably not something that shows up there very often considering it's age and time out of print.cbk57 wrote:I suspect auction history would tell on ebay but I don't know the going rate.
That is my intent Paul but I'm not going to give it away. It is worth a fair price and that is what I'm trying to establish. Then again If someone wants to make me an offer I will consider it. Bear in mind though that there are 5 of these up on Amazon and the asking price is between $112-$200 USD so the offer should be somewhere near those prices.Paul_OFarrell wrote:Hi Derek,

Prices on Abebooks are very high on many things but there's no evidence that books ever change hands at the prices being asked for them there. I have a very rare book that is always over $500 these days on Abe but I've never been able to get offers of even $200 for it on any forum.

I don’t know what it’s worth these days. I bought mine dirt cheap for 20 euro last year. I had the luck to buy it from a friend, who sold it to me for a very friendly price. We both knew that it was cheap, but it didn’t matter to him. It had a price tag of 20 euro inside and asked that. Who was i to go under that price. I’m happy i have this book that i wanted for years. I’m not saying that 20 euro is a correct price. It’s worth way more, but can’t give an estimate on the value of this book.
Best regards,
Lesley

Hey, what ever happened to the Author of that book, Andy Matthews? I never hear anything about him anymore. Is he still around? - Is he still building models? Anyone know what's going on with him?

yes that is really sad. He was an amazing modeller back then. He just gave me a whole bunch of his Williams Decals and some Williams yellow/blue paint. And when you compare Andy's paint to Zero's there is a big difference between them...f40 wrote: Andy was taken ill and is out of the hobby all together .
I remeber some time ago someone sold a few books around here incl. the Clearview book for a very reasonable price but there was not much interest...strange because it's brilliant.
Another thing, I was wondering if aomeone here has pictures of hin Tyrrell builts ?
