Well I know besides us being addicted to plastic, what do you guys do for a living when your not creating your masterpieces? I hope this is not to personal of a question but it would be nice to know what our other lives are like.

I will start, I am 49 and I am a retired police officer who is on disability. Hope to hear from others soon. :P

All the best
Roy

I am 39 years old and I am a partner with my dad on our farm. This is an interesting question, always wondered what kind of background people have, also age is interesting, is this really an ageing hobby?

Being 56 I am in my second career after being a heavy equipment operator for 20 years I now work as a PC Tech.
My love for racing got me into F1 and building Tamiya kits. Have to say even as a kid I built models but always seemed to be automotive.

I'm a geologist working at an environmental consulting firm. At 62, I'm looking forward to retirement and more free time to build models, but I'm not sure that will ever be financially possible with our modest "nest egg" and no pension here at the office.

Oh, and today is our 25th wedding anniversary! Hoping for 25 more. :D

Cheers,
Greg

Hi,

I'm 54 and an electronics hardware designer. My work include designing things that are close to smart phones.

I started build models when I was around 8. I started by creating paper models of anything that I like, ships, aircraft, robots from TV shows, etc. since I have no money for plastic models. My dad bought me my first model, an Airfix 1/72 Fiat G91, when I as around 9.

I only get into plastic models seriously when I was 24. I have my job, money and some time by then. Well it's been 30 yrs now.

Well my younger son shows quite some interest in the hobby and I'm working with him now on a 1/144 Mig 24 Hind helicopter. It will be nice if he can pick up this hobby as I have more models than I can build.

Hi,
I'm 62 and a semi-retired ( or retarded as the kids say!) Security Officer for the Royal Air Force.
Need to keep working to pay for my three addictions, modelling, our fab Quarter Horse JP, and my Alfa Spider! Not to sure which one comes first but at the moment Alfa addiction is winning :)

Obvious I build web sites for a living... for Penn State, IPMS/USA and F1M. Been doing that since 1996, professionally since 1999 at the University of Mississippi...
