Re: bestbalsakits releases & ongoing projects
Think I am going for your new transkit.
Something for the mud will be looking great in the display cabinet.

Re: bestbalsakits releases & ongoing projects
Hey Wim, any chance of scaling this down to do a 1:24th version? A lot of Fujimi Porsche rally cars in that scale could use that rim and tire combination. I would immediately place and order for 3 sets. Most of the rally cars carry either one or two spares so three sets of 4 would give me mounted and spares for two cars.bestbalsakits wrote:yes Daniel & Christian,

Great idea Wim! It will be a full transkit with decals, wheels, additional parts, etc?

mmm, scaling down is not that simple: dimensions would fall below minimal requirements so part would need to be redisigned. Not sure it's worth the trouble... Maybe if 1/12 is done and i if i have loooots of time and low inspirationPeteJ wrote: Hey Wim, any chance of scaling this down to do a 1:24th version? George, i'd do full transkit for body. I'm not going into detail under the hood or re the car interior.gtziaf wrote:Great idea Wim! It will be a full transkit with decals, wheels, additional parts, etc?
So far, i'd include decals, resin parts (front tire & wheel, rear tire & wheel, bull bars front & rear, high beams car nose & door, set of air horns, duck tail engine cover and reworked front spoiler and maybe i need to include few parts to finish front & rear mud gards when the turbo extentions have been cut off - we'll see when i have cut them off and see how it looks) and some photo etch (mesh front bull bar, skid plate, maybe wipers & some other small stuff)
I probably have missed some stuff, but that will become clear while developing.

Re: bestbalsakits releases & ongoing projects
Well, made some progress.
Most parts have been 3D drawn & printed. All items in pictures were printed by me, but i'll have 3d party to redo the tires as detail is too small to clean up for me.
Parts painted with white primer just need a final sanding with 800 grid, then they're ready to be used as prototypes for the moulds.
A few of these parts need an aditional layer of primer: i ran out of it so some parts did not get fully covered.
Now i'll start with cutting off the Tamiya 934 fenders to correct widths, and maybe i'll need to make some adjustment fills for these areas too. I'll see...
Front & rear 'bull bars' & front spoiler (both spoiler & rear bull bar viewed upside down)
Ducktail, door mirror, rear crush rubbers, parts for high beams on door (small setup) & hood (bigger ones), front air intake.
The high beam lenses have focussing detail on the inside so when these are made in clear resin, this detail will become visible. I cannot picture the detail as it is too small to take decent picture of...
front & rear tire & wheels, grill for duck tail, horns (still need to be cleaned)
High beams with covers in place.
