I remember standing trackside at Donington in 1993 and thru the rain and spray and gloom of that day the red of the Mclaren stood out like the brightest light. It was amazing, the contrast against the grey backdrop just made it pop even more.
The red on the Chesterfield Lola stood out in a similar manner.

Besides, we probably add to it the "WTF" experience we had when we saw them for the first time.

If you mean the cap matching the decals - I wouldn't get too excited!

Yes Wim, that's the full experience if you add music to it. :)
yes, davey: sparse light is where the fluo paints show up their true power. In a different scale (Donnington experience is unbeatable) you can feel it at your home at the sunset time, when the true fluo cars on tbe shelves stand out hugely from the rest.

Yes James, definitely in the shadows. There's particular parts of the circuit at both Monaco and Monza when the cars were in the shade of trees and it was possible to just about capture the actual colour on film. Stunning livery, so simple.

Would be great if this was offered in a spray can.
I have tried the little jar from Mr.Color 171 hand painted on a spoon and it is so much better than Tamiya TS36. Me using only rattle cans, I also wish this 171 could be made in a can! Couldn't ask for more.

As for the spray Motip M04020, I have only found it on Amazon Italy and 400ml costs 32 euros! Not that much cheaper than Tamiya!

While looking thru my stash of McLaren decals, I found 2 sets for the MP4/5b. They both include the number 50. I looked on line and can't find an explanation for this. Anyone know the answer?

It was a special number applied for a photo celebrating 50 wins at the Mexican GP.
