Re: What is your latest model purchase
Happy to send measurements. I found an auction site with one of the bikes for sale. About 25 pics of chassis detail. Gave me a good indication of surface finishes and chassis details. What's cool is the bike is interesting visually, yet simple enough to really take it to the next level of finishing.JamesB wrote:Yes, it's a MUSTjmpsebring wrote: I didn't know about this winning design until I saw these pics. Nieto is a 12+1 times champion. Surely the White Italian Federation Garellis (and later the Aprilias) are a nice thing, but Nieto's red version is "DA THING"
I will try to pass you as many pics as possible. Believe me they are rare!!
Hmmm.... I pass you pics, you pass me some measures to help unstall
my scratch project quid pro quo!!

Re: What is your latest model purchase
Hi All,
I've gotten a few kits lately in anticipation of retiring in 14 months, including some Tamiya Mustang GT4s with Indycals liveries, a Tamiya Alpine A110 from HLJ (who knows when that will ever arrive with the current situation?), and a BBR 1/43 Ferrari F310 from a seller in Russia, which I'm still waiting on and should be here next week. But the kit I've REALLY been jonesing for is the Tameo MTG 003 Ferrari 512S 12 Hr Sebring Winner 1970, which arrived today. I purchased it directly from Tameo. I was hesitant because of my fear of trimming vacform "glass", but the kit comes with white metal "clam shells" that go over the vacform pieces for cutting guides. Cheers,
Greg

watching it now, and checking where it goes to. Thanks for mentioning. I had searched a few days ago and only found models in Japan or elsewhere overseas for a steep price + even worse shipping costs.
Cheers,
Roman

Hard to find model, steep price. Sounds like bestbalsa. So why not ask me?sky1911 wrote:I had searched a few days ago and only found models in Japan or elsewhere overseas for a steep price + even worse shipping costs.
I have 7 of these in stock. Some with bad carton & bad decals, so price could be acceptable.
And adding decal here decal there for free - you know what i've got coming - should not be an issue.

Re: What is your latest model purchase
Hi All,
The Tamiya 1/24 Racing Mini has been in my basement for about 25 years, and when I took it out recently, the left front wing flair was gone. I "met" a modeler in the UK online, who sent me the part and a new decal sheet. So now that kit is complete. What a great community. I'm going to build it as a replica of a BRG Mini I photographed at a southern California Vintage race in 1995, which had a Weber DCOE carb instead of SU carbs. I found printed 1/24 Weber DCOE carbs on Shapeways, just need to modify the intake manifold.
Cheers,
Greg
I ordered the Tamiya 1/24 Alpine A110 from HLJ, and got the BBR 1/43 Ferrari F310 from an eBay seller in Russia the 3rd week of April. They both arrived this week. Must have been on a boat. I've always wanted the Tamiya A110 over the Heller version, and the 1996-season MSC F1 Ferrari. The Tamiya 1/24 Racing Mini has been in my basement for about 25 years, and when I took it out recently, the left front wing flair was gone.
