Ferrari 512M 24H Daytona & Le Mans 1971 - Feeling43

Post by gtziaf »

After the two 917s, something more - more difficult arrived to my modelling cave, from Italy. The Feeling43 kits don't need further comments because their reputation is well known, so here is the raw material for this project...

As you see in the title, I plan to build two models. One Daytona #6 and one Le Mans #11 car. I think this will be my most difficult project, of them all.

I 'm little afraid about them so any comments, suggestions, etc. are more than welcome.

The party just begins. Please join me

Wow..this will be a great project. I'd love to build a Feeling43 soon but will have to wait till a "cheap" kit pops up on ebay. Maybe the Ferrari 365 GTB :)

Daniel, I think that their latest model, the 250 Lusso is still available so her price is around 350 €. The OOP models become more and more expensive.

Gp-models (tell me again your name, don't remember it) the models belongs to a collector from Italy. They gave them to me, to build for him. Hope I enjoy this experience.

Thanks for your comments...

I'll follow this one George! But why two at once??
The kit has a reputation of being difficult to build ( like all Feeling43 kits ) but i guess you'll be fine :-)
For me it's too expensive. I'll wait for Hiro to eventually do it in 1:43...

My name is Guido George, thank`s for information, i was realy wondering how you get them, one to find is very hard today, but 2 is diggin for the holy grale! :)
As Joachim said, they are pretty hard to build, but i guess you will do it right with your experience on the MFH 917 you did. Looking forward to your progress, can`t remember any WIP about a Feeling43 kit, so watching this with high interest!

Thanks for your comments guys.

Joachim yes it is a very very difficult task. Especially because I need to build two of them for the Italian collector.
The good thing is that there no deadlines.
For the MFH, the day of a 512M announcement is not far away, I think. So, definitely and the 1/43 vers. will follow.

Guido happy that I learn your real name. This Italian collector, have most of the Feeling43 kits. I hope they are interest to build and make a good WIP.

Hello again... It's time for the first update.

First of all, I spent some time to study the kit, the instructions and the parts. Especially the instructions are hand written, so they are difficult to understand in many occasions. Then, I made a building plan on my mind and start to execute it...

So, firstly I collect the body parts, and they are many. All these needs extensive clean up, to have stand buy for test fitting in almost every part, which glued on to the model.
Image

Then I start with the main chassis. Epoxy glue and hardcore solutions help me.
Image

After that is time to build the rear frame and attach some interior parts in the chassis. As you can see, the casting is from another, old, time...
Image

So the combination of kit parts, brass and metal rods, after a lot of passion, can give you the rear frame. And after I made it once, I manage to prepare myself to try again for the second car.

This is for now. Thanks for watching
