1/20 Ensign N180 Jan Lammers conversion
Working on a conversion of an Ebbro Lotus 91 and a Studio27 Monaco Trans kit into an Ensign N180.
Not an easy one and a lot of work.
Of course not 100%, impossible for me. Full WIP on my website.

A lotus 91 as a base?? curious! and brave
I'd say you're better off with an FW07, but here you go.
Besides other stuff, a crucial point on the DFV wing cars is relative position of
cockpit front roll hoop/sidepods front edge/front axle
There were two "families", the one with standard position (L79, FW07, Ty010, ATS, MN180, M811&821...) and then the ones with advanced cockpit, such as MP4/1, L81-->91, Alfa182, etc..
Anyway go ahead!

More people advised me to use a FW07, but in my eyes it would be not doable (not within my skills).
So i leave that one up to you.
I hope to come as close as i can, but it will not be 100% for sure. So be it.
I might build your kit when it ever comes.

In the end it's facts like that which make me realize the misery of my manufacturing terms and finally spur me, so who knows!!!racingkars wrote: I was waiting a long time for your kit, JamesB, but i gave up hope after 5 years.
Sorry, I understand your feelings!
That's really nice you can always make the two versions...racingkars wrote:More people advised me to use a FW07, but in my eyes it would be not doable (not within my skills).

I strongly dis-recommend comparing naked eye with images, particularly drawings, that are usually unaccurate.
Nevertheless I'll look for my dimensions sheet and will share with you, if it's any help
PS:
You are being kind here, I in fact admit it's mostly as it was in...2010!!!!racingkars wrote:...but i gave up hope after 5 years.

Though i don't have problems on this one if something is 2 mm short or too long, whatever.
You have a much more technical i than i have, no doubt.
On the web i have also a lot of trouble on recognizing all those N180 versions.
No pictures from the full sides etc., so the drawing will have to do...
Different front wings, no front wings etc... but almost always the car of Simon Fish comes up.
The Jan Lammers versions are tough to find.

Yes I remember it was tough. Good that I had the GPI, Folocon's book and an Autocar year mag.
Nevertheless someone like Jordan (Alex) may flood you with his valuable tons of pics.

Great, Kars, but you were too fast for me to find the measures and drawings!
Hmm... these are my decals?
