Fit test rear suspension
Body, Gearbox and Floor.
I have added some place holder for the body on the floor - also part of the revised print design.

Re: Mercedes AMG W05 in Scale 1/12
Cont. with the long running project.............
Revised Front Suspension
Test-Mount of most of the parts
Got a rough 3d cad-file from the W05 front wing - much better as mine design:
and also the 3d-file of the Pirelli Slick Tyre
Finally: kit production is canceled - it does not work with the 3d-print supplier to get payable and good quality prints.
I will sell the stl.files for self printing or third party printer service.

Sad to hear. To get an idea, how much would printing for example at shapeways cost ?
Are all the surfaces "thin" to reduce prinitng costs !?!

Re: Mercedes AMG W05 in Scale 1/12
My guess is, a lot. I wouldn't be shocked if it was at least $500 for something cheap and rough, like WSF. Acrylic or FUD would probably be close to $1000. Even keeping wall thicknesses to a minimum, there's just a lot of material in a 1/12 car.daniel wrote:Sad to hear. To get an idea, how much would printing for example at shapeways cost ?

Je ne regrette rien.

Pattos place has them. The printing costs for anything from Shapeways is expensive. I wanted an item that I could buy on eBay for $90. They wanted $100 just for one of the 15 pieces!

Model change.
Now the W08.
Plan is, printing at shapeways in different materials.
Decals printing will be down by a manufacture near to my hometown.

Re: Mercedes AMG W05 in Scale 1/12
Is W05 project dead ?
Both W08 look great. Early season and late season, I guess. Please keep up the great work and keep us informed.
I am extremely interested.
I think idea of printing different parts in different materials is well worth exploring in attempt to bring total cost down.
I'm doing my own test prints of F1-GTR conversion parts in different materials. So, I could use most economical, but viable
material for each particular part.
