Re: Mercedes AMG W05 in Scale 1/12
Already expressed my interest in PM. Will follow closely and will try to be one of the first to acquire a copy.
It's amazing that some of us with skills in 3D CAD can now pretty much develop their own kits. Hope to see
more of that. It is also great to see a cooperation between great model builders. Would love to see more of
that and contribute what I can.

Re: Mercedes AMG W05 in Scale 1/12
Design-Process:
i started with the 3D-Design last year in September as i get the decal plan from the Monopost W05:
In addition i collect all photos i can get from the i-net about the W05.
It will be a curbside - i did not get good detail pictures about the engine and the environment of the engine/gearbox.
Price is not fixed yet - i'm ot sure about the process to build the master: 3D-Print or 3D-Mill.

Preparation of Parts for Test-Print
Gearbox with complete suspension
The design is not finish - the surfaces must be more smooth
For a test print the resolution is ok.

Test-Print in ABS from an external supplier with 0.254mm resulution
Mounting all parts:
The central cowl and the rearwing are redesigned and new printed:
This version of the car is not 100% perfect - there are lots of improvements planned.

Re: Mercedes AMG W05 in Scale 1/12
After the first test-print was assembled, i did some major changes to fix issues.
The cowl will be mounted with screws like on the orignal car
Tyres and parts now smoother for the size of the printed model:
Also a difficult task: Preparing the decals
For the next test prints i will use my own 3d printer

Re: Mercedes AMG W05 in Scale 1/12
There lots of people creating 3d models for racing games, some quite detailed.
I enquired about the possibility of 3D printing them.....most of them hadn't even thought of it......we live in interesting times.
