Re: GREAT NEWS FOR 126C2 fans at 1/12th
great news finally...... the wheel sizes on the revell/rpotar kit is completely worng. i don't think the 126C2 ever raced with a 13 rear and 15 front configuration.

Yes, cedric needs those wheels but not for this car that was what prompted me todo it.
Glank, though we thought so too, we finally found one pic with 15F/13R, Long Beach I think (practice)
But yes, it's quite unadequate

Re: GREAT NEWS FOR 126C2 fans at 1/12th
I think I have a pic of 15/13 in practice on Friday at Zolder as well. But have to check first to be sure. But for the versions I want to build I need 15 inch rears with 15 inch front, plus 15 rear with 13 inch fronts.

The tires are cracking and breaking apart. Have it up on supports now. The tires look very similar to the 126C2.JamesB wrote: PS: Dave... I guess you mean the rims. It's the rims that use to melt. Did the rubber on your model melt too???

now you mention I remember having seen that on Ebay "for sale" built models.daves wrote:The tires are cracking and breaking apart. Have it up on supports now. The tires look very similar to the 126C2.

Then they must have changed the tyre compound between '81 and '83 as the 126C2 tyres (first edition) still stand after some 25 years. And look healthy.
But yes I also remember having seen even McLaren's tyres getting that white easpect. Probably different rubber suppliers?

Re: GREAT NEWS FOR 126C2 fans at 1/12th
Hi all,
I just wish we could have a decent set of tyres for each 1:12 Protar kit that wouldn't rot / eat the wheels over time. Is the only way out having to cast my own from resin?
Cheers, Paul

A slight bump to this so you guys may get those still
Also available correctly sized 13" wheels for the Protar MP4/2C. That includes tyres and rims. Not only you avoid the melting problem but you also get correctly sized stuff....
PM for further details.
Re: GOOD NEWS,126C2 & MP4/2C FANS at 1/12th
I have bought both James' products here (2 sets of MP4/2C wheels and 1 set of the 15" 126C2 wheels) and I can attest to their quality. They are great and I highly recommend them.
Best,
AJ
