That's it. Eric Boullier has just stepped down as racing director.
The Freddo gate, the great performances, etc... some will think it's overdue. What you think?

Long overdue, but I don't expect any big improvements any time soon.

if your given a poor car by engineering your going to get poor results, he is seen as the face of McLaren because he is at the races, facing the press, having to answer questions constantly about what is wrong with the team, when will things improve, the people that have designed the car are back at the factory out of the limelight, am surprised these people are still in a job, I wonder how this will affect Fernando's thinking for next season.

He was basically the team director. McLaren seems to have given him a weird title as he isn't only responsible for race operations. I think its a good move as all of their ridiculous statements about Honda and how they had the best chassis for the last few years were clearly out of place. While Red Bull has won 3 races this year they've only been able to do well when others fail.

Now McLaren has to give up on this car and work on the 2019 car. Either way, I expect Alonso to go to IndyCar next year for the triple crown.

It's not the first time someone hires another team's Team Principal, thinking they found the greeaal, and fail.
Boullier seemed to make a hell of a job in Lotus (Raikkonen's era), but apparently the merit was not exactly his, given what McLaren has achieved these years...
Well at least has the dignity of resigning.
