Yes, I too have always loved "The Colours of Benetton" (as their ads used to say). Just their presence added a splash of excitement to the races in the 1990s.

... In all the finished models that I saw, none of them had the tensors... I think that's just because Tamiya did not provide attachment holes, for the wires. They didn't provide wire in the kit, either. I've only seen the tensor wires on one finished model, and I like your idea. It's a bit of nice...
