Another driver to consider is Sir Stirling Moss. He was a great driver who never had top flight equipment due to the fact he would only drive British cars.

This is truly incredible. All those tiny precision parts. Every time I try to hold a small piece with tweezers it takes off across the room and results in a long search of the floor. This really is an amazing project.

I'm currently building a Tamiya 1/12 MP 4/6 and I thought some of those parts were small. I can't believe you get so much detail in a 1/43, Very nice work.

MP4/6 ignition leads
I have a question concerning the 12 round black objects on the cylinder head covers on the McLaren MP4/6. Are these ignition transformers or solid state ignition devices of some kind? The wiring leading in to them is too small to carry high voltage to the plugs.
