This is a very challenging paint and decal work indeed.
Couldn't agree more, and I'm glad that I left that behind now. Everything is now in clear coat.
Next up will be painting the insides of the body panels.

Thanks for all your support! @CK: that's a great tip! I will remember that. More corrections today... Tomorrow a final inspection in daylight, ...

Carrying on! IMG_6951.jpg IMG_6953.jpg IMG_6954.jpg IMG_6957.jpg IMG_6960.jpg IMG_6962.jpg I would like to redo the green parts of the rear cowling, but I'm getting tired of creating new damage by removing the masking (which already happened, not visible in the photos). So next up is repairing some ...

After that I ...

Yes, another series of pictures of a door... IMG_6871.jpg IMG_6872.jpg IMG_6879.jpg IMG_6885.jpg IMG_6891.jpg Now let's hope the green is not too far off... Yesterday I did some minor tests on the body to check the color, and that looked good when sanded down lightly. But it's hard to compare the ne...

Thanks again guys! @Guido: I actually started masking with the intention to paint everything, but it just couldn't get it right. I used that 1mm flex tape to mask the white lines, but some corners were just too sharp. @Roman: the kit actually contains glow-in-the-dark decals, but they are thick as l...

Hi all, I looked at all options and chose the one I'm most comfortable with. Thanks for all your advice nonetheless! @Guido: if I would go get new decals, I'd rather find someone who could print my scanned decals in a professional way... Well thanks again, I appreciate you both thinking with me :) The creases are actually triple layers of folded decal, that's why they won't disappear with heat or solvents. The good news is that after the first layers of clear (Tamiya TS) all irregularities easily disappear by sanding. I think we're ...

Thanks again for your support and tips guys! Decal trouble is not over yet however. I regard the silvering as a minor problem, the creases on the doors as the major one. Solved the silvering as good as I can by following your tips, and eventually hand painting blue over the bigger transparant areas....

@CK & Guido: what kind of glue would you use for that? Tamiya Extra Thin, or is that too aggressive?
