I'm based in the UK and I use Halfords automotive primer straight out of the rattle can. Gives a lovely smooth finish and is very durable. First coat with grey primer, seals everything and stops any 'bleed thru' and then a light coat of white primer to give a blank canvass ready for the zero paint. ...

That looks so good Michael. Especially like the red Calbee and the Fluro yellow marking.
