Re: Paint Cracking - M@r!b*r* Fluorescent Red

Have you given the layers enough time to gas out? The paints from Gravity, Scale Finishes, Zero, et al are all automotive basecoats, and they absolutely need at least 10 to 15 minutes minimum to gas out between thin layers. When I first started using automotive basecoats, I used the same technique t...

On the subject of fluo yellow. An excellent 4 part story of the Brawn 2009 championship campaign narrated by Keanu Reeves are currently shown on Disney+. That series alone is a good excuse for shelling out a month of subscription! What has this to do with fluo yellow you might ask? Well the 'compan...

Re: 1/12 Lotus 99t NUNU

I'll hold judgement until I get my kit, but based on the video reviews of the kit I've seen, it seems like the quality issues posted here seem to be more of an anomaly and may have been a bad production batch. Also, let's give BeeMax some leeway. They may be Aoshima's contract manufacturer, but let'...

Re: Look for Meng McLaren MP4/4 in the wild

Beemax will show up with the early version, high inlets on the sidepods. According to the announcement, it will be the Monaco GP version, so it will have the snorkel inlets, but will have the option to build with the multi-element rear wing and rain tires that was used in practice. To be honest, I'...

Re: Clearcoat on tires

Depends on the vintage. It's only since Pirelli came into F1 that you see tires with any sort of gloss. So for current Pirelli F1 tires, I would go matte tread and semi-gloss sidewalls, unless their brand new sticker tires, then glossy tread, semi-gloss sidewall. Vintage tires I would go matte all a...

3D Print Request - 17" SSR Wheels for 962C

As much as I would love to learn how, I just don't have the time to learn a new skill such as 3D Modeling and printing. My drafting experiencing is limited to learning CADkey back in the early 90s during my undergrad engineering studies. So I was wondering if I could put in a request to those with t...
