That's interesting, do you think it's still possible to try this once the decals are settled?

Re: 1/20 1989 'grid'

Update: Onyx build starts getting shape. After the decal 'disaster' on the Benetton i started the Onyx as the first of many 'blue' cars of the 1989 season. Having a great example of a build here on F1M ( Thanks for sharing your build David!) I knew what to do. One of the known problems is The floor ...

Re: Will we see re-issues of newer kits ever again?

I guess they release what they think will sell. Was the "new"(er) kits like the Lotus 102 and 107 ever that popular? They probably wheren't that popular but Tamiya was even sponsoring them those days, I think there is a market for them but maybe not a big enough one to re release them whi...

Re: 1/20 1989 'grid'

Great update! Shame about the decal silvering. Good spot on the Lotus wheel nuts, I totally missed this on my 101 so it has the kit wheel nuts. Malc. Indeed a shame about the silvering but i think i might be able to fix it altough i'm not rushing it for now. Thanks! thought using the tamiya rims ga...

No ideas.
I think they do some re-releases from time to time, I've seen decals and kits making 'frequent' comebacks

Re: 1/20 1989 'grid'

Hi everyone, another update! i have been able to add a 2k clearcoat on both the Benetton and Lotus. After doing this the Benetton was ready for decals ( one of the most exciting parts of the build together with pulling of the masking tape after a paintjob) As each time i do a build i want to do thin...

Re: Instrument Lenses

I think there are quite some possibilities to create the lenses. you could put a little drop of clear or resin on top of it and let it cure or stance out tiny circles out of transparent plastic.
