Re: Next 1990 car: The Arrows A11B!

I've been getting a little work done on the body and front wing. I've used the wing from a Tamiya FW13B, cut down flush at the back, and filled the contours with epoxy putty. I'm focusing on the French Grand Prix, so that means the side pods needed to be opened for the radiators. (it was a scorcher!...

Next 1990 car: The Arrows A11B!

After completing the McLaren, Williams, and Lotus from 1990, it's time for the next car. I picked this 1/20 Arrows A11B up on Yahoo Japan, and really didn't know what to expect. What I received was a body, badly warped tray, and some very crude wing bits. All resin castings are plagued with large ch...

Re: 1/12th 1980 Porsche K3 Apple Car

Great build! I saw that car race at Brainerd and Laguna Seca that year. I was 10 yrs old, but I still remember thinking Bobby Rahal was almost as cool as Greg Pickett....his Corvette was ridiculous!

Yes, I have a BT59 in my stash from Rollout Models. Beautiful kit, but I am intimidated by the complex paint and pinstripes. Really looking forward to building it.

Re: 3 1990 cars completed

About the Lotus....I am wrong about the manufacturer. Turns out it is from Nobuland, and the trans kit I used is available on AMC's new website.

Re: 3 1990 cars completed

beautiful builds, and my favourite era Leyton House CG901 next? I think I'm going to save that one. To me, Capelli's car was most important car from the 1990 race at Paul Ricard. I want to make sure I get that one spot on. Thinking of the Larrousse or Tyrrell next. Possibly the Life that AMC just r...

Re: 3 1990 cars completed

Beauties! Nice cars from the best era! I love all 3 kits, interesting to see the Lotus 102 there, nice modification from a ... 102B I suppose? Is the Lotus a mod of the Tamiya kit? I'm in the process of doing the same car, interested to see your approach. They all look really good. Nope, boys! pict...

3 1990 cars completed

3 cars now are complete from the 1990 season, specifically the 1990 French Grand Prix. I have tried to get the markings and configurations correct for that particular race.

I have a long ways to go skill wise, but this site really helps with good tips and techniques.

Which 1990 car should be next??

Thanks for pointing this out. I ordered one today.

I guess when my collection is only 1990 cars, I could not say no to this one!

Re: Brabham BT59 quandry

I did a search almost daily on Yahoo Japan auctions until I found the Rollout BT59, as well as an AMD B190. Took about a year to get both. If you're patient, you can find one.

My kitbashing and conversions will be saved for other 1990 cars like the Minardi and Arrows.
