Re: Leyton House CG 901B
Success! I was able to blend the fresh green paint into the surrounding area, and shot three more heavy coats of clear over the whole nose. I let it dry for a few days, and carefully polished it out. I think it turned out pretty good - disaster averted. https://www.ipmsniagarafrontier.com/images/Ley...

Re: Leyton House CG 901B
I masked around the damaged green area and shot some green paint on it. I tried to make sure I covered the sanded-through stripe but not put too much paint on the area. After removing the masking, it looks OK, but it will take some careful sanding to remove the ridge where the masking was done. http...

Re: Leyton House CG 901B
So, a minor disaster struck when I tried polishing the nose part. I managed to burn through the clear and take off some of the black decal stripe in a few spots. I also started to burn through the green on one side so it now has a lighter stripe on an edge. I managed to mask and touch up the black s...

Nice work! I have the MFH 1/12 kit that I will get to some day. By the way, one of your photos is not showing up because there are brackets ][ missing in the img line near the end. Nice photos, I want to see the missing one, too

Re: Leyton House CG 901B
Seema, unfortunately the green mix was not so easy. I started with Benetton green from MCW, for the B-192, and added some of their black until the color matched the decals. I believe the color is actually BP green, which is available from Zero and others, but I didn't feel like buying a bottle just ...

Re: Leyton House CG 901B
Nice decal work! Are those Studio27 carbon decals cracking or lay down very soft? Thanks. My technique has been to dip the decals in hot water for around 30 seconds, wet the surface with Solvaset, lay the decal in position, add more Solvaset and keep wetting it for a minute or so. Then I soak up an...

Re: Leyton House CG 901B
I got some work done on the nose piece. I had painted it in the base color, and tried to use the Studio 27 decal for the green, but the decal wouldn't wrap around the front and started breaking up. I gave up, and removed it while I still could. I mixed up some paint to match the BP green, masked the...

Re: Leyton House CG 901B
Thomas, thanks for the kind words. We visited Munich in 2017 when I got my new BMW M2, and had a wonderful time.
