Thanks!

I'm increasingly not a lover of the MP4/6 either...

Re: Tamiya 1:12 McLaren MP4/6 Rebuild/Upgrade

This one is taking its toll on my mental health! Nothing seems to fit without some fettling, and fettling invariably means damaging paint somewhere or other. It’s a viscious circle. and experimenting with matt/satin varnish is a pain. Anyway, I decided to test assemble what I’ve got so far, just to ...

Re: Tamiya 1:12 McLaren MP4/6 Rebuild/Upgrade

Thanks guys - long time no post, but enough’s enough. Today, come what may, I wanted to do something to move this millstone forward a bit. This is where I left the modified rear rockers, with the unpainted, scratch built bits. I hesitate to say “corrected”, but they are far closer to reality than th...

Re: Finally FW14B detail set

The aluminium actuators I got from TV included a yellow felt-tip pen. Once applied, it looks very much like the anodising/TiN coating or whatever it is on the real thing. I got the brake set the other day. Quality is without question, but I'm really not at all impressed with what you get for the pri...

Re: Finally FW14B detail set

The brake set seems very expensive for what's in it. Much more than the MP4/6 version with similar part count. Obviously I'll get a set, but...I dread to think what the engine set will cost.

Re: Western Kits 1:43 Tyrrell P/34 Prototype

If you are struggling for decals you always purchase a sheet of decal print paper and make your own. If it the white oblong number square and the blue project 34 I would use white decal sheet and print the blue lettering in the shape of the number square, then you don't need a printer that can prin...

Re: Tamiya 1:12 McLaren MP4/6 Rebuild/Upgrade

That will be the new number one MP4/6 worldwide.. absolute stunning work, thank you for sharing your fantastic work. Thanks very much! My aim is always to do so the best I’m capable of, no matter how many times it takes. However, with this model there are still two big hurdles: the tub, and the exh...

Re: McLaren MP4/4 "My Biggest Project" 1:8

Love this work. The cockpit is great - if I can’t tell the difference from the real version (apart from the background of the photographs) then what else is there left to say?

Thanks Seema! I use Autosol on a lot of metal projects. Simichrome is also very good.
