Re: JR Salvinos IndyCar

How many of these kits I buy depends on how much of the 500 grid Michael makes decals for!
Exactly! I will buy the kit because I know Indycals is making aftermarket decals. Given the cost of the kit is $80, I’m not sure I’d buy if my only option was the default decals that come with the kit.

Re: JR Salvinos IndyCar

They did NOT use my artwork on this, there are some serious issues with these decals and I'm probably going to get the blame after it was announced I was doing the art. I thought it was odd that Clay had to use a knife to cut the decal down the middle and remove material to show the “spine” on the ...

Re: JR Salvinos IndyCar

I see what you are taking about with the 2024 windscreen. I’m wondering if it could be scratch built, but obviously I’d have to see the kit first. Probably wouldn’t be easy.

Re: JR Salvinos IndyCar

This is probably an odd comment, but I am OK waiting until they get this right because it appears the DW12 chassis isn’t going anywhere before 2027. https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/motor/2024/03/04/indycar-new-car-hybrid-engine-development-2027-mark-miles-honda-chevy-costs/72808582007/ I’d hav...

Re: MFH for April 2024

They used to include the number of kits to be produced on their website. Usually 200-300 per release. Eg 100 version a, 50 version b, 50 of c
Thanks for passing the info along! That helps me decide when I’m deciding to buy a MFH kit. If it’s something I really like, like the MP4/8, I’ll buy two.

Re: MFH for April 2024

I agree it’s an odd choice given the car didn’t perform particularly well. Perhaps MFH thinks it will sell well in specific markets, possibly Brazil and Japan. Like all MFH kits, even the ones I don’t have interest in, I hope it sells well. I want them to keep producing kits because eventually they ...

Re: Look for Meng McLaren MP4/4 in the wild

I’ll take some pictures later tonight. My opinion so far is that while it does have toylike features, they all can be addressed with cutting, filling and sanding. You have the option of leaving them there and making the kit easier on yourself, or taking them out and getting a more “model kit” like, ...

Re: New Plastic Indycar kit in 1/20 scale coming soon!!!!

That looks pretty nice!

I went to the race in St. Louis about a week ago and the Arrows McLarens really look cool in person. Would love to build a speedway and road course version of Rossi’s car (hint for Indycals)🙂

Re: Look for Meng McLaren MP4/4 in the wild

Eric - yes, it’s completely possible to do what you’re referring to. In fact, I imagine this will be the preferred approach for many builders, as the “toylike” features of the model lend itself to this approach. The only thing I don’t know is that there are those post like things on the cowling that...

Super cool! Can’t wait to see what Indycals comes up with!
