Re: WIP Yardley M23

Are you making the Revson car?,as I still remember being at Silverstone in "73" when Peter won the race and Jody Scheckter caused that amazing first lap collision which took place right in front of me! Best wishes,Alexp. Alex, we must have been sitting close together back in '73, I saw it...

Re: Tires for Tamiya 312B

Gavin, I want to do same thing, as tires in my 312B kit have disintegrated. What exactly have to be modified to use 72D's tires ? I cut up a spare set of Lotus wheels, using the inner and outer parts of each wheel. I then cut out the Ferrari spokes and added them between each Lotus wheel 'halve'. A...

Re: Tires for Tamiya 312B

Thomas, I used the tyres from the 72D (the 312B ran with slicks in early 1971) so using those tyres is the best bet. You'll have to change the diameter and width of the wheel though to fit the 72D tyres.

Definitely worth doing, the standard kit tyres are horrible.

This is one of my other passions, my Vauxhall VX220 Turbo. It was built by Lotus (based on the Elise chassis) but fitted with a 2 litre Vauxhall turbo charged engine. 0 - 60 is less than 5 seconds and it goes round corners on rails. I use it most days.

RE: Mesh air filters on Tamiya Ferrari 312B

I used the mesh covers from the T4 kit. I assembled the rear suspension before fitting the velocity stacks because I could also envisaged it being a problem. If I remember correctly I had to slightly shorten the velocity stacks that were closest to the rear suspension attachment point on the chassis...

RE: How to watch Brazil GP on TV in Lanzarote?

I was in Tenerife in May and the Monaco GP was on one of the Spanish channels, couldn't tell you which one though. Do as I did, have a flick through all available channels in your room or find a bar that is showing it. Should be lively in a bar with Alonso going for the title!

Aaahh, Silverstone 1973. As a kid I was sat in the start line grandstand with my Dad and watched that whole incident unfold in front of me. Been hooked ever since. Especially love the 1970's cars. To me they really were the days. I still get a great buzz going to see the Thoroughbred Grand Prix cars...
