Re: Forum News

Since the site change, when I click on a thread in the 'recent topics' section, it always opens at the last post of that thread (regardless of whether or not I've read the previous posts on an earlier occasion). But if I go to a different section (questions or WIP for example) and open a thread, it ...

Re: De-Static a plastic model before painting?

I've got a couple of those antistatic 'guns' that people use on their vinyl (I guess a lot of people will have thrown them away when they discarded all their LPs in the 80's). I was doing the 'future' thing on my windscreen a few weeks ago and used the antistatic gun then. I can't say categorically ...

Re: 1/12 Tamiya Williams FW14B

For what it's worth, I've just looked up a couple of close ups of the wheel nuts, and in my opinion, the non-blue ones look as if they're white!

Re: Decals on clear parts (headlight covers)

It's good to bring happiness into someone's life ... the TS050 is such a complex shape, that it's hard to work out what you will/won't see when it's complete and therefore which parts are a waste of time trying to correct when you then discover they are hidden. I'm trying to build in a way that diff...

Re: Decals on clear parts (headlight covers)

Thank you stubeck.

By the way, if I'd been made to give you $1 for every time I've referred to your TS050 WIP over the last couple of months, you'd probably be able to afford a real one!

Cheers

Decals on clear parts (headlight covers)

I'm coming to the end of the Tamiya TS050. If you know the car, you understand that it has very prominent front headlights with bulbous clear covers. Anyway, I've got a set of Studio 27 cf decals that include thin (about 1mm wide) decals to go around the headlight covers at the point where they atta...

Re: resize of images for forum

As it happens, I was looking for a batch image resizer for my wife last week and I wanted something that was not a part of another photo program. And I came across Microsoft PowerToys. There was a time when I used to download Powertoys on each PC that I built, but then forgot all about it and was su...

Re: Decanting paint, why?

I'm sure that most of us have our own 'funny' story about decanting. About 6 months ago I had decanted a load of blue for the Tyrrell I was (and actually still am) working on. I had done the decanting the day before and allowed it to degas overnight (with the lid just resting on top of the paint jar...

Re: Parts service EBBRO

Hi Richard
I've had great service from Ebbro in the past (at least 4 times).

The email address I have is:

shop@shopping1.qs.shopserve.jp

And the name of my last contact there was Futoshi (in 2018).

I hope you get the same great service I received.

Best wishes
Malcolm

Re: Customs Charges!!!!

If I remember correctly, the last time I got charged for importing from (Japan I think) I got charged around 30% - I checked it out at the time and reluctantly came to the conclusion that the charge was correct and so paid up. I don't hold myself out as an expert, but this link gives an example of t...
