Looking really good! In modelling, thinner is usually better so well worth the effort. And glad you perservered with the paint - came up very nicely in the end!

Re: Ferrari 248F1 - Fujimi 1/20 (Schumacher, Japan)

To be clear, I started it 6 - 7 years ago, but it spent most of that time untouched in its box! (Well, I occasionally got it out to look at, but usually put it away again muttering 'soon, soon.....') Probably spent no more than 6 months actually 'on the bench'.

Re: Ferrari 248F1 - Fujimi 1/20 (Schumacher, Japan)

Thanks everyone :) I was having a look at the F2007 last night - they definitely resolved some of the design issues from this kit, so hopefully it won't be too bad. A couple of tricky looking areas still, but that's half the fun, right? :) But I think I will go with something older for my next one -...

Ferrari 248F1 - Fujimi 1/20 (Schumacher, Japan)

So about 7 years after I started it, I've finally got around to finishing this one! Not the easiest of kits when you deviate from the instructions, but I think it turned out OK. A couple of things went wrong along the way - there was some slight yellowing in the lacquer over the white areas. I strip...

Spraying them with water is so last decade. Spray them with oil instead!

Re: Fujimi 1/20 Ferrari 248 F1

Thanks. A few issues here and there, as you can see in the photos. I'm sure if you simply followed the instructions it would turn out reasonably OK, but I don't like seams in wrong places so that was not an option for me. I missed out a shot of the cockpit last time, so here we go: http://www.prdobs...

Re: Fujimi 1/20 Ferrari 248 F1

So this did not turn out to be a good lockdown project for me! Barely made any progress. Trying to get it finished off now though. Things have not always gone to plan, however! First up, after a few attempts at test fitting things, I realised that I wasn't going to be able to attached the exhaust pi...

Re: Fujimi 1/20 Ferrari 248 F1

Hi guys! I've not been here for a looong time now... but with everything going on at the moment, I decided the time was right to pull this still unfinished model out of it's box and get it done at long last! There have been a couple of house moves since the last update, but fortunately I managed to ...
