Re: Meeeerry Christmas one and all!!!
A little late, but Merry Christmas everyone! Here in Portugal, is similar to what JamesB described. The Christmas tree, the Presépio, which is a diorama of the Jesus birth in Belém, with the stable, the figures, etc Also, lots of food: Codfish with potatoes and cabbage on 24th and roast meet on 25th...

Re: Cutting decals
I am guessing that you know to make your own template by using the Tamiya decals and a light table to draw onto masking paper, yes? That set of decals must be even rarer than the Shunkos as even Studio 27s site doesn't list them. Looks like i'm making my own.
Sorry for the late rep...

Re: Cutting decals
Hi Bossy! Yes, I have here the reference: ST27-DC12 1600. They depict the Swedish 96 rally, which means it is a direct replacement of Tamiya ones, but without the orange and red. Some drawbacks: you have to paint the orange stripe and there are no template for masking the red and orange I don't have...

Re: Cutting decals
I have used either scissors or a very sharp x-acto. Not a trouble so far. BTW I am finishing a Repsol Escort as well with Studio 27 decals, that don't have the orange/red bits. If you paint the orange and red bits, I recommend Mr. Color C171 and C173, but be careful because the white repsol letters ...

Re: What is wrong with just building things (or me)?
Oh well, since this is an anonymous meeting, I guess I can spit out my 2 cents. I can really relate with sky1911, CK and the Advance Modeler Syndrome, as well as Eagle and tubegenius. I just love building kits. When I was younger, I usually build a Tamiya kit (for instance a rally car or simil...

Re: Customs Charges!!!!
Customs are the main reason I stopped buying from Japan. The minimum value tax free just got down from 35€ to 25€ and includes shipping costs. So, I can only buy stuff outside EU with a cost of circa 15€, to account around 10€ of shipping charge. Otherwise, add 23% VAT to that value and other custom...

Re: How to paint mesh on WRC cars?
Hello I've never done that specific model, however I've done the Works Focus and some Peugeot 206. Tamiya instruction manual has a "real size" template that I used to overlay the mesh. I just simply put the mesh over the template and used some tape to fix the mesh in the instruction manual...
Re: Lotus 98t
Hello I did my conversion based on a 99T but there was no 97T at the time. If it was today, I'd use the 97T. The modification on the 99 are huge. You have to cut all the cowling base 2 mm to make the the 99T look sleeker and cut and re-shape the rear lateral part My 2 cents are: go with 97T Best wis...
