I also use some plastic polish once I am done with all the manipulation to get it sized, etc. You didn't really ask, but once bit of advice I gained was the following. I use Tamiya masking tape to "line" the edges of where the part should be cut (as seen by the indentations on the formed p...

1. Working with putty to fill anything. (I always struggle to get the surface flat/smooth enough for painting). 2. Dealing with vacuform screens. 3. Deciding what clear coat is really my favorite. 4. Finishing a model and not liking how it turned out in the end because I got too impatient.

What color(s) do you prefer to use as a base color for under your carbon fiber decals? I looked through a lot of previous posts and there were a lot of different suggestions but I wanted to get a fresh set of opinions. Thank you in advance for your thoughts.

I typically always come back to Mr. Surfacer (1200 or 1500). I usually buy the bottles and then thin 1:1.5 with Mr Color Leveling thinner.
