Re: Mercedes W08 2017 British GP 1/20 MONOPOST
Great job so far! It's kind of hard to believe you've only been building models for a year. This thread is very detailed and shows much work goes in to these 1/20 multimedia kits. Bummer about the green decals not lining up on the sidepods. Good job with your own CF decal templates. Applying CF deca...

Re: Ebbro McLaren MP4/31
Looking very neat and tidy! Can't wait to see the final product :) I gotta say, Ebbro makes really nice Pirelli tyres - hopefully with Red Bull switching to Honda they'll make a kit with the current spec wide tyres too Thanks! Yes, and the Pirelli tires also sand very well. A Toro Rosso Honda or Re...

Thanks! That's a huge compliment. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions when you decide to build it.Dougboy wrote:Very nice build. I have this kit stashed and whenever I get to it, I will for sure come back to this thread as reference.

Re: F1 testing Barcelona
Good to see Williams getting some useful running in. Maybe the cars is not as bad as people seem to want it to be. McLaren looks fast. What’s up with the Merc? Lando set the quickest time on the C4 tires, so not bad from McLaren. Mercedes stopped on track at some point, and probably spent the rest ...

Re: F1 testing Barcelona
I'm curious if you can think of an incident where the tarmac was safer? I understand that gravel traps considered dangerous but I can't think of many accidents with cars where the gravel trap caused the injury. The worst is the car flipping but often that is better as the energy is dissipated, wher...

Re: F1 testing Barcelona
Wow, Mercedes showed up to the second test week with a basically all new car. We'll see how much quicker it is over the next few days. https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/merc ... 0/4343980/

Re: Ebbro McLaren MP4/31
Well, it's 99% complete! I just need to add the nose cameras and a small piece between the tea-tray and monocoque. All pieces have been clear coated and mounted to the car. Here's the front wing dry fitted before clear coating. As you can see there are numerous CF decals. I painted the underside of ...

Re: F1 testing Barcelona
So, I'm back - and i've seen the 2019 cars in person. I didn't take my full camera kit because we were too cheap to buy check in bags, so hand luggage only! Here's some of what my Phone managed to get! https://i.imgur.com/SHxgplv.jpg Mercedes looked clean all day, no errors from Lewis despite all o...

Re: F1 testing Barcelona
We can all find something to dislike about F1, however you can look at any point in f1 history and find something not to like. Even going back to the so called glory days, things were not near as great in reality as they were in hindsight. Now matter how good any given race was prior to the late 19...

Re: Ebbro McLaren MP4/31
Amazing work ! Looks great ! Btw, what decal solution do you use with those S27 CF decals, if any ? Thanks! I use copious amounts of micro-sol but I ran out, so I've been using Tamiya mark fit strong. The decals are more reactive to heat and pressure however the solution helps. For example, micro-s...
