Re: Shops in Tokyo and Kyoto

A visit to MFH might be the best way to get some Joe Honda books, depending on what they still have in stock. You could tour the manufacturing spaces, meet the Hiros and their wonderful workers, see some kits being made, and have a great afternoon -- while getting some Joe Honda books. If you'll be...

Re: Shops in Tokyo and Kyoto

Hi, yes, it is the Shosen book tower. Think it’s the 5th floor. Top of the escalator is the model magazines, both straight ahead, and to the hard left. The Joe Honda books, and F1Modeling, are with the car magazines, further around. Look for a book stand beside the end aisle, that’s where the Joe H...

Re: Shops in Tokyo and Kyoto

I am on vacation in Tokyo for two weeks. F1Xena, you mentioned 'a multi story bookstore behind Yodobashi that always has the latest F1Modelling and Joe Honda books.'

Do you still know the name of that bookstore? Or is it the Shosen Book Tower? Am looking for Joe Honda book while in Tokyo.

Re: Hobby shops in Orlando and NYC

Wasn't able to find any decent shops in NYC; there is a store that is close to where I live which is around 1:15h drive from NYC.

This store is packed to the roof, mainly carries armor, aircraft and a lot (mainly) US car models:

Re: 3M Trizact 3000 at Car Dealer

What I found on the shelves, yes. I used the stuff today and have to say I am excited after using thicker pads, padded sticks and fine grained Tamiya sandpaper. It doesn't replace all these things but so far my favorite for prepping my models for paint, and first stage prep for polishing.

3M Trizact 3000 at Car Dealer

Found a product called 3M Trizact Performance Sandpaper in 3000 grit. It is a thin foam and so far love this stuff when starting polishing. It really feels good in the curves and hard to reach areas particularly when cutting it in small pieces or strips. Bought it at Advanced Car Parts for $7 for a ...

Re: Reminder...

Completely agree. As a newbie to the F1 Modeling space and compared to the communities I used to visit (Military Plane Scale Models and RC/Car forums) I am still positively surprised how helpful and dedicated the F1M community is. So far I received great and very quick help on all questions I asked ...

Re: Are you going to buy the f60 from tamiya?>

Yep, I'll buy one. Yep, I'll get the special paint if they sell that too. No I'm not complaining about price. Tamiya's kits are quite amazing and are (to my mind) the only kits that seemed designed to actually give the builder pleasure in addition to accuracy. Agree, was just watching Part 2 of HLJ...

Re: Are you going to buy the f60 from tamiya?>

Sure will do. At this time I will take every 1/20 kit including a potential Brawn GP001 one. I am not only interested in the F60 car as a model but am more curious if Tamiya raised the bar with this (and hopefully consecutive kits) in terms of kit quality, build experience and accuracy. This will pr...

Tamiya released official pictures of their F60 RC/Car http://bit.ly/32D5Zo Unfortunately no pictures of the 1/20 kit.
